BAGERHAT, Aug 3 (UNB): Forest Department officials seized four hilsha fish laden trawlers and arrested eight fishermen from Boleshwar river near Sharankhola Wednesday morning.
Officials of Sundarbans East Division said they arrested the eight fishermen and seized the trawlers along with hilsha while patrolling in the forest area.
The arrested fishermen and seized hilsha-laden trawlers were brought to Sharankhola range office later.
Forest Department said fishermen of the three seized trawlers were fishing without valid documents in the river.
They said the other trawler collected pass from the forest department. But after catching fish it tried to flee changing the route for evading tax.
