Four killed, 15 injured as bus collides with truck in Tangail

TANGAIL, Nov 16 (BSS/UNB): Four passengers including a baby were killed and 15 others injured when a bus collided head on with a truck in Charbabla area under kalihati upazila on Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway this afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Haidar Ali, 40, son of Shukur Ali, Haidar Ali, 45, son of Saban Ali, 45, hailed from Gaibandha district and an unidentified baby girl aged about 6 months.

The accident took place on Banghabandhu bridge link road about 3:30 pm when a Dhaka-bound bus crashed into a truck coming from the opposite direction, leaving the trio dead on the spot and 12 others injured, said Aktheruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Banghabandhu Bridge East Police station.

The injured were taken to Tangail Medical College Hospital.
