COMILLA, Sep 3 (UNB): Four people were killed and three others injured when a train rammed an auto-rickshaw into a rail-side pond at Tughuria under Nangolkot Upazila Monday morning.
Police said the auto-rickshaw tumbled into the pond after the Laksam-bound Samatat Express from Noakhali hit it, leaving its four passengers dead and three others injured.
"The accident took place when the auto-rickshaw was crossing the unguarded open level crossing at about 9:30 am.
Later, local people recovered the bodies of four passengers, including a minor, from the pond. One of deceased was identified as Abdul Kader (45), while identity of the others could not be known immediately.
The injured were admitted to Nangolkot Upazila Health Complex in critical condition
