A 15-member executive committee of the Forum for Rights of the Elderly, Bangladesh (FRE-B) was formed for a fresh two-year term at its annual general meeting in the city Wednesday with WHO's former senior regional adviser Dr KM Rashid its president and Resource Integration Centre (RIC) director Abul Hasib Khan its secretary general, says a press release.
The other office-bearers include: executive president-former UN CEDAW Committee member Ferdous Ara Begum, vice president-retired professor (Jahangirnagar University) Dr M Kabir, joint secretary-BIDS researcher Dr Sharifa Begum, treasurer-Prabin Hitoishi Sangha life member Adv Shah Md Habibur Rahman.
The remaining others are members of the FRE-B executive committee. They are Md Sirajul Huq, secretary general of Bangladesh Retired Government Employees Welfare Association, Maj Gen (retd) Jibon Kanai Das, country representative and head of operations, Bangladesh, AM Mahidul Islam, adviser of the Elderly Welfare Council, Dr Samnun Farukh Taha, specialist, geriatric medicine, Md Khairul Kabir, president of the Elderly Welfare Council, Tofajjel Hossain Manju, executive committee member of RIC, Selina Akter, general secretary of Subarta Trust, M Nazmul Alam David, executive director of Paribartan Khulna, and Ferdousi Begum Gitali, senior manager for programme, RIC.
