Free treatment for poor patients gets good response

FARIDPUR, Nov 15: Al-Madina Private Hospital, Faridpur, is delivering free medical facilities to the poor and under-privileged section of the people for the last few years at West Khabashpur area of the town.
The facilities they receive included X-ray, pathology, ECG, ultra-sonogram, echocardiography and other diagnostic processes completely free of cost. During the last six years poor patients have taken free medical aid worth about Tk 1.5 million.
Chairman of Al-Madina Private Hospital, Al-hajj Atiar Rahman Mollah, told this correspondent that they have started this medical service with an aim to treat the poor and under-privileged section of people, but at present his organisation needs international aid to meet the growing demand of the increasing number of patients.
Aisha Begum (60), who came to the hospital for treatment, told this reporter that she received X-ray, pathology, ECG and ultra-sonogram test free of any cost. Like Aisha who came to the hospital are very happy and satisfied to get free medical service.
