The National Fruit Fair 2022 kicked off in the city on Thursday aiming to boost production further to meet the national requirement.
Agriculture minister Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque inaugurated the three-day fair on the Krishibid Institution of Bangladesh (KIB) premises in the city's Khamarbari area, organised by the agricultural ministry.
The fair is being held with the theme 'year-round fruit production, brings both money and nutrition'.
The fair is open to the public every day from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. Visitors are able to learn about different techniques of fruit cultivations. The will also can purchase different varieties of fresh and safe fruits without chemical.
A total of 67 government and private organizations are participating in the fair to exhibit technology as well as to sell fruits.
Dr Razzaque said the present government is working to ensure safe and nutritious food for all as per the election promise.
