GARMENTECH Bangladesh '10 begins in city

The 9th international garment and allied machinery and accessories trade show "GARMENTECH Bangladesh-2010" kicked off at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city Wednesday.
"The exposition will showcase technology and solutions to the sector in productivity, skill development and value addition," Zakaria Bhuiyan, chairman of Zakaria Trade and Fair International said at its inaugural function.
The fair will enable Bangladesh garment industry to develop new alternate sources of supplies, make new contacts and discover and capitalise on the new opportunities that will be brought to the industry, he added.
More than 100 companies will display sewing, finishing, laundry, embroidery, printing, laser, CAD/CAM, knitting and allied machinery.
Zakaria Trade and Fair International of Bangladesh and ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd of India have jointly organised the mega event that would conclude on January 16.
Organisers have added a new event, International Fabrics and Accessories Sourcing Fair, this year at the same time at the same venue.
The International Fabrics and Accessories Sourcing Fair will act as a platform conceived to address the apparel fabrics and garment accessories sourcing needs of the Bangladesh clothing.
