At least eight people have been injured in a gas cylinder blast prompting a fire at a fast-food shop in Khulna city, reports bdnews24.com.
MM Mizabur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar thana, said the fire broke out in the shop, Roaster King, on Ahsan Ahmed Road after the explosion at its kitchen around 12:00 noon on Friday.
The injured include shop owner Al Amin, his neighbour Abu Taher, and Fire Service workers Mamun, Farid and Mejbah.
A chicken supplier and two workers of the shop were also injured.
All the eight were admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital. The three firefighters were later sent to Dhaka for better treatment, doctor Shahriar Sharif said.
OC Mizanur said the fire devastated the shop when another cylinder leaked as it caused the fire to spread quickly.
