Gas cylinder blast kills two in Cox's Bazar

COX"S BAZAR, Feb 14 (UNB): Two people, including woman, were killed in a gas cylinder blast at Adinath Temple in Moheshkhali upazila on Wednesday morning.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. The duo was selling gas balloons in front of the temple where a seven-day fair was being held on the occasion of Shiva Puja of the Hindu community, said Prodwip Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Moheshkhali Police Station.

At one stage, the gas cylinder exploded with loud sound at 11:15am, leaving the two dead on the spot, the police official added.

On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
