NEW DELHI, Mar 15 (BSS): The visiting Bangladesh Chief of Army Staff General Mohammad Abdul Mubeen began his official engagements here Monday by placing a wreath at the Aamar Jawan Jyoti (AJJ) at the India Gate, in memory of the members of the soldiers who laid down their lives during India's independence.
From there, General Mubeen drove to the Army headquarters at the South Block.
Indian Chief of Army Staff General Deepak Kapoor received him on his arrival. A smart contingent of army presented him a guard of honour and he inspected the guard.
After the ceremony, the visiting Bangladesh Army Chief met his Indian counterpart at his office and discussed matters of mutual interests.
They also discussed boosting military ties between the two countries. General Mohammad Abdul Mubeen made a courtesy call on the chief of Indian Naval staff Admiral Nirmal Verma and discussed matters of bilateral interests.
