Police recovered the decomposed body of a minor girl from the underground water tank of an under-construction hospital building in the city's Darus Salam area Sunday, over one month after she had gone missing, reports UNB.
The victim was identified as Sadia Akhter Mou (6), a playgroup student of Kabi Nazrul Islam Kindergarten and daughter of Mohammad Pavel and Eti Akhter, both garment workers, of the area.
The couple had been residing at 183/C Lalkuthi of Barisal Colony under Darus Salam Thana.
Quoting family members, police said Mou went out of their residence for play after returning from school on February 22. But she did not return home.
Later, a general diary was registered in this connection, said sub-inspector Mashiur Rahman of the thana.
