Gold bars seized at Ctg airport

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 17: The Custom Intelligence Department at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport successfully intercepted 64 gold bars from an Oman Airways flight (WY-311) arriving from Dubai at 9:00 pm last Friday.

The customs authority confiscated a total of 7.654 kg of gold bars.

Director of Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport, Group Captain Taslim Ahamed, confirmed the incident.

Joint Director of the Custom Intelligence Department at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport, Md Abdul Matin, stated, "Our team discovered 64 gold bars located beside a seat on the flight. The estimated value of the recovered gold bars is around Tk 60 million." In connection with the incident, a case has been filed with Patenga Thana, he added.
