Gold worth Tk 4.1m seized at Ctg airport

CHITTAGONG, Aug 15 (UNB): Customs officials seized eight gold bars weighing 933 gms and worth about Tk 4.1 million from a passenger of Air Arabia Airlines at Shah Amanat International Airport in the port city Friday morning.

The passenger was identified as M Osman (46), hailing from Madanhat area of Hathazari upazila of the district. He arrived at the airport from Sharjah of the UAE by an Air Arabia flight around 9:30 am.

Mashiur Rahman Mandal, senior assistant commissioner of airport customs authority, said while checking, they found the gold bars in a flask kept inside the luggage of Osman.
