The Bangladesh government handed over 139 tonnes of rice to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) on Thursday to support food assistance for Rohingya refugees living in Cox's Bazar and Bhasan Char.
The first consignment of a 400-tonne donation will support Rohingya refugees, according to a press release issued on Friday.
The rice was handed over by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief at a ceremony held at the WFP logistics hub in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar.
