Govt for dev of alternative medical systems: Nasim

Minister for Health and Family Welfare Affairs Mohammad Nasim said that the government had appointed 298 Homeo doctors at the district and upazila levels and is committed to developing the alternative medicine sector, reports BSS.
The Health Minister said this while speaking at a meeting with Homeopath, Unani and Ayurvedic Boards at the Bangladesh Secretariat in the city on Sunday.
Railway minister and chairman of Bangladesh Unani and Ayurvedic Board Mujibul Huq was present at the meeting.
Mr Nasim said that a number of Ayurvedic doctors had also been appointed in a number of government hospitals.
Nasim said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with India for transfer of technology in this sector.
At the same time, the minister cautioned against false claims made by fake alternative medical practitioners.
