Govt offices reopen after Eid holiday

All the government offices, including the Bangladesh Secretariat, banks, financial institutions and insurance companies, reopened on Sunday after a 10-day Eid-ul-Azha holiday.
Officials and employees were seen exchanging greetings with each other upon their arrival at the Secretariat on the day. Nearly all officials and employees of the ministries were present.
Most of the advisers who are in charge of various ministries arrived on time while a few were seen entering the Secretariat after 10:00 am. They greeted senior secretaries, secretaries and officials at their ministries warmly.
Eid greetings were also exchanged across various ministries and divisions, including finance, local government and rural development, health, information, commerce, food, agriculture, and disaster management and relief. According to various sources, the attendance of officials and employees across government offices was largely normal.
The Eid break which began on June 5 ended on June 14. To accommodate the extended leave, government offices remained open on two Saturdays prior to Eid.
Talking to the FE, Senior Assistant Vice-President of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC Mouchak branch said that the volume of transactions at the branch were significant on the first day of resuming offices after Eid holidays.
Eid-ul-Azha was observed on June 7 while the final working day for government employees was June 4.
