The government has set up a 'dashboard' to monitor online teaching and learning at multimedia class rooms in 20,500 educational institutions across the country, officials said, reports BSS.
They said the ministry of education in collaboration with the Access to Information (A2I) Programme has developed the dashboard titled 'Multimedia Classroom Management System (mmc.e-service.gov.bd)' which will enable the ministry officials and others concerned to know the status of education at multimedia classrooms.
"We're bringing ICT education, including the multimedia classroom management, under online monitoring and the Multimedia Classroom Management System dashboard is a part of that initiative," said education secretary Md. Nazrul Islam Khan.
He said in line with its digital Bangladesh vision the government has put emphasis on expanding e-learning and accordingly it has introduced ICT education and set up multimedia classrooms in 20,500 educational institutions across the country so far.
"But the education at the multimedia classrooms may face a setback if it is not monitored regularly," education secretary said, adding that Multimedia Classroom Management System (mmc.e-service.gov.bd) dashboard is a modern monitoring tool that would also help establish transparency and accountability of teachers and education officers.
Mr Khan, who is also National Project Director of A2I programme, said the Upazila Education Officers have already been provided training to make online registration of educational institutions, which have multimedia classrooms.
