Govt to build Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Int\\\'l Airport

The government has a plan to construct a most modern new airport with international standard titled 'Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib International Airport' around Dhaka to build Bangladesh as a hub between the East and West in the movement of aircraft, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon said Monday, reports BSS.

Replying to a question from Jatiya Party lawmaker Begum Salma Islam, the minister said

Civil Aviation Authority would implement the project through its own funding.

Consultants would be appointed after the approval of the TPP, he added.

Menon said the timeframe for implementation of the project would be fixed later after endorsement of the main project, while the place for the project would be finalised in the light of the report of the feasibility study of the consultant.
