Govt to set up computer lab at 2,000 educational instts

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader told the parliament on Sunday that the government has taken a plan to set up computer lab at 2,000 educational institutions with language training facility at upazila level through a project, reports BSS.

"The government has already started setting up the computer lab under "Establishment of Computer and Language Training Lab in Educational Institutions all over the country" project," he said, while replying to a question from treasury bench member Selina Begum in the House.

The minister, also in charge of the Post, Telecommunications and ICT Ministry in Parliament, said the government would establish 64 computer labs having language training facilities at each district.

"Each lab will have 17 laptops, printer, scanner, internal network and 3G (third generation) wi fi access point under the project," he said, while replying to another question from treasury bench member Shariful Islam Zinnah during the question and answer session of the House with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
