‘Govt to take steps to save Boral River’

Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan on Saturday said the government will take all necessary measures to save the Boral River from the encroachment and pollution, reports UNB.

Addressing a rally as chief guest at Upazila Chattar of Chatmohar in Pabna, the minister said dam will be removed after proper inspection.

"The people, who occupy rivers, are the Razakars of this era. Earlier, there were 24,000 kilometers water route in the country and now it has turned to only 3,000 kilometers due to the previous government's negligence and carelessness," he said.

However, fresh 1,400 kilometers water route has been dredged during the regime of the incumbent government," he added.
