The government has announced two Hajj packages for 2027, lowering both the overall cost of the pilgrimage and airfare expenses to ease the financial burden on pilgrims.
The Hajj packages under both government and private management also include reduced airfare for Hajj pilgrims. Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain (Kaikobad) made the announcement while addressing a press conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
He said the lowest-cost government Hajj package has been set at Tk 505,648 (over Tk 0.5 million), while the premium package will cost Tk 615,263 (over Tk 0.6 million).
The standard Hajj package under private management has been fixed at Tk 513,648 (over Tk 0.5 million), he added.
Government Hajj Package-1, priced at Tk 615,263, offers accommodation in Makkah within 1,000 to 1,400 metres of the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram) and in the Markaziyah area of Madinah, he said.
The minister said pilgrims under this package will stay in Zone-2 tents in Mina and receive accommodation, catering and other services in Mina and Arafat under Service Package-3 through the Muallim. According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), Hajj pilgrims are expected to stay in Saudi Arabia for 35 to 40 days.
Pilgrims will also have the option to upgrade their accommodation or choose a shorter-duration package by paying additional charges.
The minister said Government Hajj Package-2 (Economy) has been priced at Tk 505,648 (over Tk 0.5 million).
He said under Government Hajj Package-2 (Economy), accommodation in Makkah will be located two to three kilometres from the Grand Mosque, while accommodation in Madinah will be outside the Markaziyah area but within 800 metres of the Prophet's Mosque (Masjid an-Nabawi).
Pilgrims under this package will stay in Zone-5 tents in Mina. If their hotel is located more than two kilometres from the Grand Mosque, Salawat bus services will be provided in line with Saudi government regulations, he added.
The minister said the government's election manifesto pledges to establish an affordable, accessible, humane and expatriate-friendly Hajj management system.
