"The country witnessed considerable progress in the last five years and many development programmes on ICT are being implemented," he told a function organised by Dhaka University IT Society (DUITS) at the Teachers-Students Centre of Dhaka University (TSC) auditorium Monday on the occasion of DUITS second founding anniversary.
ICT Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Khan, leaders of DUITS and IT experts addressed, among others, the function with Chairman of Television and Film Studies Department of DU Dr AJM Shafiul Alam in the chair.
The youths constitute one third of total population in Bangladesh, Palak said: "We have to make the youths into human resources by imparting ICT-based knowledge to accelerate our economic prosperity."
"In the last 20 years, labour-intensive economy has dominated in Bangladesh. But now we have to transform it into a knowledge based economy by creating skilled manpower," Zunaid said.
