Hajj and Umrah Fair 2026 draws huge crowds

The second day of the three-day National Hajj and Umrah Fair 2026 drew huge crowds of intending pilgrims on Friday due to public holiday.

Earlier State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat inaugurated the fair on Thursday at Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the capital.

Organised by the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB), the inauguration session was attended, among others, by Deputy Head of Mission of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Bangladesh Khalid Saeed Al Hadal, HAAB leaders and prospective Hajj pilgrims, among others.

There are 163 stalls at the fair where HAAB members while Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saudi Airlines and some banks are offering with discount prices for the persons intending to perform Hajj-2027 and Umrah.

An official at the stall of Saudi Airways told the FE that the airliner offers 20 percent discount while for Dhaka- Madinah-Dhaka route 10 percent discount on regular price.

He said that anyone wishing to avail that opportunity must confirm ticket booking either for travelling on Dhaka- Jeddah- Dhaka or Dhaka- Madinah-Dhaka routes by August 5, 2026 that will start from August 1st 2026.

He said that travel under discount tickets will be possible from 1st September 2026 to 31st December 2026.
