Hajj flights to start from Aug 27

The government decided Wednesday to start Hajj flight from August 27 next. It will continue till September 28. The return flights will start from October 8 and continue until November 8.
"Hajj flight will begin on August 27 and continue until September 28," Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Chowdhury Md Babul Hasan, told the media after an interministerial meeting at the ministry on the day.
Nearly 0.1 million Bangladeshi people will fly to Saudi Arabia this year for performing the holy Hajj through the government and private management with separate packages.
"This year 98,762 Bangladeshi people will go to Saudi Arabia for performing Hajj. Out of those, 1600 will go under government management while the rest under private management," he said.
He said the government has announced two packages for Hajj pilgrims.  The cost for one package is Tk 2,95,00 while another is Tk 3,65,000.
On the other hand, the private Hajj agencies have offered two packages. The cost of one package is Tk 2,95,776 while the other is Tk 3,54,316.  
The government and the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) have said there will be no mismanagement for Hajj pilgrims this year.   
The religious affairs secretary said that there will be no mismanagement this year since they have reviewed all the aspects in this regard.
"We hope to complete successfully the Hajj flights and other related matters since we have already resolved all problems in this regard," he added.  
Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Saudia Airlines will carry equal number of pilgrims, a high official of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism told the FE.
Meanwhile, leaders of the HAAB are now in Saudi Arabia to ensure proper Hajj management for the pilgrims, sources said.
"We have taken measures to avoid mismanagement. We are committed to facilitate the pilgrims for performing Hajj smoothly," Secretary of HAAB Shahidul Alam told the FE.
He said the President, Vice- President, Secretary General and other office bearers of HAAB are now in Saudi Arabia to ensure proper Hajj management.
