COX'S BAZAR, July 4 (UNB): Police allegedly resorted to repression and harassment of a poor family as the daughter of a police officer has eloped with her paramour and quietly married him.
Sub-inspector Harunur Rashid filed an abduction case against Rahmatullah, his parents and brother. His elderly mother arrested two days ago was sent to prison when produced before the court today.
Others went into hiding for fear of repression.
Sharmin, an HSC examinee and daughter of Harun had long love affairs with Rahmatullah, a computor operator. They were often seen in joyous bouts in the beach, neighbours said.
