A three-day festival, titled 'Hay Festival Dhaka 2014', which has turned out to be an important literary event of the country, begins at Bangla Academy in the city tomorrow (Thursday), reports UNB.
The event, fourth of its kind in Bangladesh, is a popular platform that brings together inspiring personalities in the field of literature, history, journalism, music and art from across the world.
Organisers formally spelled out the programmes of this year's festival at a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Tuesday.
This year's theme of the festival is 'Telling stories in different ways, and pushing the boundaries of the mind.'
Hay Festival is an annual literature and arts festival held at Hay-on-Wye, Powys, and Wales in London for ten days from May to June.
Some 60 poets, writers, publishers, columnists, novelists, philosophers, scientists, thinkers from 13 different countries will take part in the festival.
More than 200 poets and writers from Bangladesh are going to join the festival, Said Sadaf Saaz Siddiqi, one of the festival directors of organising committee.
