HC orders formation of body to check unnecessary C-sections

The High Court (HC) ordered on Sunday the authorities concerned to form a committee involving specialists and stakeholders within a month to formulate a guideline within six months, aiming to prevent unnecessary caesarean sections in the country, reports UNB.

The HC issued a rule asking the government to explain as to why the ineffectiveness of the defendants to take necessary steps for preventing unnecessary caesarean sections should not be declared illegal.
