The High Court (HC) asks the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to update it on the cases filed against PK Halder, the swindler of billions of taka, by June 12.

Mr Halder, a former managing director of NRB Global Bank and Reliance Finance Ltd, now faces trial in India following his capture in West Bengal on May 14.

On Tuesday, the HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Kazi Md Ejarul Haque Akondo sought details as it held a date-fixing hearing on a rule.

The court, however, fixed June 12 for hearing on the suo-moto rule issued by the court about one-and-half years ago over Mr Halder's repatriation.

ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan, who appeared in the hearing, said the HC asked the ACC to inform it verbally of the latest position of the cases against Mr Halder by the period.

Earlier, a more was made to hear a rule issued by the higher court about one-and-half years ago over government steps to extradite Mr Halder and his arrest.
