The High Court (HC) summoned Wednesday deputy commissioner (DC) of police (Mirpur zone) and officer-in-charge (OC) of Mirpur Police Station over the rape of a garment worker in a moving microbus at Mirpur in the city, reports UNB.
The HC ordered the two police officers to appear before it on July 15 to explain why they failed to arrest those involved in raping the girl.
The court also ordered officer-in-charge (OC) of One Stop Crisis Centre of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) to appear before it the same day to inform it about the medical report of the victim.
A division bench of the HC comprising Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Kazi Md. Ejarul Haque Akondo passed the order upon a petition filed by Children's Charity of Bangladesh Foundation, a rights organisation on July 5.
