Heat wave sweeps 19 dists

Rain/thunder showers is likely to occur at some districts until 06:00 pm today (Thursday ), according to Met office.

Severe heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Bagerhat, Jashore, Chuadanga and Kushtia and mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions and the districts of Dinajpur, Chandpur, Khulna, Satkhira, Barishal and Patuakhali and it may continue.

The highest temperature in the country on Wednesday was recorded at 40.4 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga and Jashore while the lowest temperature 20.5 degrees Celsius in Nikli.

The highest temperature in the city was recorded at 36.8 degrees Celsius and the lowest was 26.1 degrees.
