Heavy rains in Dhaka and Chattogram submerged roads and disrupted commute on Thursday.
In Dhaka, sporadic downpour started at 11:30 am and continued throughout the day, and the showers intensified occasionally.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department recorded 32 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours till 6:00 pm, according to meteorologist Dr Sadequl Alam.
He also said the rain was expected to continue for the next few days.
People were seen seeking shelter under shop canopies in the city and waiting for the downpours to subside when the rain intensified.
The showers led to transportation shortages and slow-moving traffic, causing delays for many office-goers in most of the city areas.
Thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind might occur at many places in Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, parts of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions, in the next three days, according to the evening data of the Met office.
Despite rainfall, both day and night temperatures might increase slightly, the Met office data says.
