House owner held for raping tenant

A house owner in Mirpur area of the city was held for allegedly raping a female tenant (18) Wednesday night, reports BSS.

The girl used to live in a house at Bawnia in Mirpur section-11 and was sleeping with her 6-month-old daughter. Her husband Abdul Jalil, a night guard, was not in the house at that time.

Taking advantage of the situation, the house owner Matin entered the room of the tenant and violated her. The rapist warned the victim that he would kill her if she tries to disclose the incident to others.

As the husband returned home from duty, the victim informed him of the matter. Abul Jalil discussed it with the local people.  Being enraged, the locals held Matin. and handed over to the police.
