DINAJPUR, Nov 4 (UNB): A housewife was allegedly beaten to death by her husband and father-in-law at Kalikapur village under Sadar Upazila Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Badinur Begum (30).
Police said Soleman, son of Subar Ali, had married Badinur seven years ago.
Since then Soleman and his family members used to torture her on flimsy grounds.
On the fateful night Soleman locked into an altercation with Badinur over a trifling matter. At one stage he along with his father beat her up mercilessly, leaving her critically injured.
Later, they confined her to a room and left the scene. Hearing her screams local people informed the police, who rushed to the spot and found her dead. Police arrested Soleman's mother from the scene.
