HSC, equivalent exams begin tomorrow

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), Alim and HSC Business Management examinations-2010 begins simultaneously throughout the country tomorrow (Thursday).
A total of 7,36,373 examinees will appear in the examinations from 7,202 educational institutions in 2,037 centres under the ten education boards including that of Madrasah and Technical.
Of the total, 4,00,464 are male and 3,35,909 female candidates. This year the number of examines is 1,14,150 more than that of the last year.
Some 146 students will also sit for the examinations in overseas centres in Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Qatar, Riyadh and Tripoli.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid presented the figures of examinees at a press conference at his secretariat office Tuesday and said all preparations have been completed to hold the examinations.
