NATORE, Oct 28 (UNB): A housewife sustained severe burn injuries in an acid attack allegedly by her husband at Aorail village in Sadar Upazila early Sunday.
The victim is Rashida Begum, wife of Hashem Ali of the village.
Family sources said the attack was made at the dead of night while she was asleep in her house.
Hearing the screams of Rashida, her neighbours rushed in and took the injured to Natore Sadar Hospital.
Later, she was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as her back and left hand were severely burnt, said Rashida's relatives.
However, Rashida's husband Hashem Ali went into hiding soon after the incident, they claimed.
