IBBL awards prizes to 244 students

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) Saturday awarded prizes worth Tk 2.7 million to 244 students for their brilliant results in the SSC, HSC and MBA examinations.
Of the recipients, 234 meritorious students, also wards of the bank's officials and employees, received certificates and money in cash as prizes for their excellent academic performance in the SSC and HSC examinations held in 2007 and 2008.
At least 10 students- four of Banking Department of Dhaka University (DU), and three of Finance and Banking Department of Chittagong University (CU) and three of Manarat International University (MIU) were also given prizes for their outstanding results in the MBA examination-2007.
IBBL organised a function in this connection at a city hotel where former chairman of the board of directors of IBBL Commodore M Ataur Rahman (retd) was present as the chief guest.
Vice-Chairman of the board of directors of IBBL Maolana Jaynul Abedin, Managing Director M Fariduddin Ahmad, MIU Vice-Chancellor Muhammad Abdur Rab and DU Banking Department Chairman Muhammad Mujahidul Islam, among others, attended the function with Chairman of the board of directors of the bank Abu Naser Mohammad Abduz Zaher in the chair.
Speaking on the occasion, Abu Naser Mohammad Abduz Zaher said IBBL would continue its efforts including providing the poor and meritorious students with stipends alongside increasing investment in the education sector to propel the nation towards progress and prosperity.
