The 17th convocation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) will be held today (Sunday) at Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon.
President Professor Dr Iajuddin Ahmed will confer certificates on the successful 145 professional accountants.
Dhaka University Vice-chancellor SMA Faiz will attend the function as the convocation speaker.
This was stated at a press conference organised by the ICAB Saturday at the Dhaka Reporters Unity.
ICAB President M Farhad Hussain narrated the background of the establishment of the institute after liberation when the number of chartered accountants was only 78.
The members of the ICAB is 937, which is far bellow the country's requirement.
Bangladesh has only one chartered accountant for 149,413 persons.
