Income Tax Fair held at JU

For the first time, an Income Tax Fair was held on the Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus on Monday.

JU administration and the JU Teachers' Association (JUTA) jointly organised the fair in collaboration with the National Board of Revenue Tax Zone-11 which ran from 09:00 am to 04:00 pm.

JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Nurul Alam inaugurated the event and expressed gratitude to the National Board of Revenue authorities for offering income tax information services on the campus.

Professor Md Nurul, Tax Commissioner Rownak Afroz, and other dignitaries visited the Income Tax Information Service Centre which facilitated the collection of income tax from the university's faculty and staff.

Thanking the National Board of Revenue's initiative, the VC said, "The university teachers, staff, and taxpayers in tax zone- 11 can now conveniently pay their income tax in a festive setting instead of travelling to Dhaka."

He expressed the hope for the continuity of this programme in future.
