Indian smuggled cloths seized in Comilla

COMILLA, Sept 1 (UNB): Detective Brach (DB) of police seized Indian smuggled saris and three-pieces worth about Tk 3.5 million from Krishnapur area of Sadar Dakkhin Upazila Saturday.
On secret information, police chased a gang of smugglers while they were carrying 34 sacks of valuable cloths over their shoulders at the point on Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
Sensing danger the smugglers fled the scene leaving the sacks behind.
A case was filed in this connection with Kotwali thana.
