An Indian national has died after falling sick at a hotel in the capital's Mirpur area.
The dead is Akbar Ali Mondol (38), who was a citizen of Murshidabad in the Indian state of West Bengal. He was a member of a group of six friends who had arrived in Dhaka for a tour.
His friend Farjul Mondol said they checked into the hotel at 7:00 pm on Friday and shared a room.
Akbar reportedly screamed and fell unconscious in sleep and his friends immediately rushed him to Mirpur 2 Heart Foundation Hospital.
As his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at 4:10 am where doctors declared him dead.
