The two-day 10th International Conference on Mechanical Engineering (ICME2013) organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, BUET, ended on the university campus Saturday.
Prof Dr MH Khan, former vice-chancellor of BUET, inaugurated the biennial conference as the chief guest while Prof Dr Maglub Al Nur, dean of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, attended as the special guest.
Prof Dr Md Zahurul Huq, head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, BUET, presided over the inaugural ceremony.
The primary objectives of ICME 2013 were to exchange views and knowledge of scientists and researchers, to share the latest research findings in the field of Mechanical Engineering, and to bridge the gap between academia and industries.
There were 21 industrial stalls of local industries and organisations to exhibit their latest products and services. Certificates and crests were distributed among the participants of the stalls.
Prof Dr M Anwar Hossain, former vice chancellor of IUT, was present as the chief guest at the concluding ceremony, said a press release.
