Int'l conference held at DU

A day-long international conference on 'Changing Material Cultures in South Asia' was held on Sunday at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban conference room of Dhaka University (DU).

The conference was jointly organised by Department of Anthropology of DU and Department of Asian Studies of Palacky University of Czech Republic.

It was presided over by chairman of Department of Anthropology of DU Prof Dr Farhana Begum.

Social science faculty dean of DU Prof Dr Sadeka Halim was the guest of honour at the inaugural session of the conference and Prof Dr Olaf Guenther of Palacky University delivered the keynote paper at the conference.

About 15 papers were presented by local and internationally renowned researchers of the conference. Many researchers from home and abroad participated in the conference.
