Int\\\'l White Cane Safety Day today

The International White Cane Safety Day-2014 will be observed in the country today (Wednesday) as elsewhere across the globe, reports UNB.

The Department of Social Services and Social Welfare Ministry have chalked out elaborate programmes to mark the day. A procession will be brought out in the morning from Bangladesh Betar Bhaban at Agargaon and it will terminate at Social Services Bhaban in the city.

A discussion and cultural function will be held today (Wednesday) morning at the Department of Social Services auditorium.

Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali will be the chief guest at the function while State Minister for Social Welfare Promod Mankin and secretary of the Ministry Nasima Begum will be present as the special guests.
