A day-long international workshop on "Black Carbon Emission from Brick Kilns in Bangladesh" jointly organised by the Department of Chemistry of Dhaka University (DU) and US States Department and ARCADIS, USA was held at the Mukarram Hossain Khondker Biggan Bhaban of DU Sunday, says a press release.
Dean of the faculty of science of DU Prof Dr Muhammad Abdul Aziz inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest.
Chairperson of the Department of Chemistry of DU Prof Dr Nilufar Nahar presided over the session while vice president of ARCADIS USA Dr Wojciech Jozewich and Department of States Representative of US Embassy, Dhaka Oliver Geraud addressed it as the special guests.
A two-member environmental experts led by Dr Wojciech Jozewicz, department manager of ARCADIS, USA called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at the latter's office Saturday.
