ISD celebrates graduation of first IB diploma students

The International School Dhaka (ISD) celebrated the graduation of the 36 members of its first Grade 12 class at a city hotel recently, said a press release.
ISD, opened in 1999 with classes to Grade 5 and has grown one grade level each year, with the first students now completing examinations for their Inter-national Baccalaureate Diploma.
The focus of the IB diploma is to create students who strive to be thinkers, communicators and risk-takers, but who are balanced, caring, reflective, knowledgeable, principled and open minded.
The graduation ceremony featured T Michael Maybury, the former executive director of the Council of Inter-national Schools, and advisory member to the ISD board of directors as the chief guest.
