IUB's Prof Mamun Habib takes charge as ACBSP committee chair

Prof. Dr. Md. Mamun Habib, Head of the Department of Management under the School of Business and Entrepreneurship (SBE) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), has assumed the prestigious role of Chair of the Member Relations Committee of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programmes (ACBSP), USA, for the 2026-27 term, says a statement.

He formally took over the position from outgoing Chair Dr. Laura De La Cruz, Dean of Advanced Technologies at Doña Ana Community College, USA, during the ACBSP 2026 Annual Conference, held recently at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown in Arizona, USA.

Earlier this year, in January, Prof. Habib was appointed Chair-elect of the Member Relations Committee.

ACBSP comprises around 2,000 business schools worldwide. Of these, approximately 1,000 institutions, including IUB, hold full accreditation, while the remaining 1,000 are members awaiting accreditation.

Each member institution is represented at the ACBSP Annual Conference and its various committees by an individual, usually a dean or department chair, from the respective business school.
