Journalist Afsari hospitalised with liver cirrhosis

Abbasuddin Afsari, vice-president of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), has been admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital, reports BSS.
Mr Afsari, also a shift-in-charge of the daily Ittefaq and general secretary of Padma Setu Bastabayan Parishad, has been suffering from liver cirrhosis.
He is undergoing treatment under the supervision of Prof AKM Khorshed Alam, Head of the Haematology Department of BSMMU.
A medical board has been formed for Afsari and suggested to send him quickly to Thailand for better treatment. But it is not possible for his family to manage the huge amount of money needed for his treatment abroad.
