Journalist Syed Amjad Husain passed away in his own residence on November 15, 2009, said a press release.
He was associated with some dailies and periodicals as working journalist or columnist. He had edited Elan, the Bangla Journal of the then Radio Pakistan, Dhaka. He has been the editor of the Detective (both English and Bangla) since 1968. Monthly Deepak, a literary magazine had also been edited by him for a considerable period.
His three books are: Allama Wahed Husain: An Unforgettable Personality, Gaddafi's Philosophical Warfare, Siraj-ud-Daulah: The Undying Hero of our Nationalism.
