Journalist gets FHF Award

Parvez Babul, a journalist, columnist and author, has received the 'Best Award' of Fred Hollows Foundation (FHF) for his article titled 'The Role of Media in Eliminating Avoidable Blindness', which was published in the FE on January 25, 2014, said a press release.
Mr Babul also obtained a Child Sight Foundation (CHF) Journalist Fellowship 2013.
Both the award and fellowship were awarded at the same function which was held recently on the South Asia University campus in Dhaka.
Mr Babul, who is a Deputy Editor of an online newspaper, bdreport24.com, writes regularly on disabilities, climate change, women's empowerment, food security and nutrition, human rights, migration and other contemporary issues in different local and international newspapers. He is an author of four books on those issues.
