Elderly journalist M Habibur Rahman Bhuiyan, former sub-editor of Daily Inqilab, passed away at his Kamlapur residence in the city Saturday morning. He was 86, reports UNB.
He left behind five sons, six daughters and a host of grandchildren, relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
His first namaj-e-janaza was held at Pirjongi Shah Mazar Jame Masjid at Motijheel after Zohr prayers.
Later, he was buried at his family graveyard at Pachbaria village in Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj district after his second namaj-e-janaza at Boro Noagaon Jame Mashjid in the upazila.
Late Habibur Rahman joined the Daily Azad, Kolkata in 1943 to start his journalism career. He was acting Mufassil editor of Daily Inqilab since its inception and retired as senior sub-editor of the daily. He also worked for the Daily Ittehad, Weekly Arafat and Daily Akhbar.
